Q: What does SEER stand for?
A: Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating. This is a measure of how much energy your AIR-CONDITIONER will
use during the cooling season.

Q: what is AFUE ?
A:  The AFUE is the most widely used measure of a furnace's heating efficiency. It measures the amount
of heat actually delivered to your house compared to the amount of fuel that you must supply to the
furnace. Thus, a furnace that has an 80% AFUE rating converts 80% of the fuel that you supply to heat --
the other 20% is lost out of the chimney.

Q: What is EER ?
A: EER is an abbreviation for Energy Efficiency Rating. The Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute
standardized this rating, which reports central air conditioning efficiency at 80 degrees F indoors and 95
degrees F outdoors. This rating measures steady-state efficiency -- that is, the efficiency of the air
conditioner once it is up and running.

Q: What is COP ?
A: The ratio of work or useful output to the amount of work or energy input, used generally as a measure
of the energy efficiency of air-conditioners and heating devices.  COP equals the output in BTUs divided
by the input in electrical energy converted to BTUs ( 1 watt = 3.1413 BTU/hr).  The higher the COP the
higher the efficiency.

Q:  What does HSPF stand for?
A:  HSPF is an abbreviation for Heating Seasonal Performance Factor. It is the most commonly used
measure of the heating efficiency of heat pumps. (The cooling efficiency of a heat pump is measured by
its SEER.)

Q: What is a DEGREE DAY ?
A: The amount of deviation in the average daily temperature from 65 degrees. Average temperatures
greater than 65 degrees yield cooling degree days where average daily temperatures less than 65
degrees yield heating degree days. ...

Q: How often do I need my air conditioning system serviced?
A: Your air conditioning system should be serviced once a year.

Q: How long can I expect my system to last?
A: Average life expectancy for a system is 10 to 15 years.

Q: How does my heat pump work?
A: Your heat pump cools yours house in the summer and heats your house in the winter by reversing the
direction of the freon refrigerant flow and by the use of supplemental electric heat elements for
extremely cold weather.
Q: How often should I change my filters?
A: 1" filters should normally be changed every 30 to 60 days. There are other options that you don't need
to change as often

Q: How many systems do I have in my home?
A: The number of systems in your home will coincide with the number of thermostats you have (most of
the
time).

Q: What should I do if my system is frozen?
A: We recommend that you turn the system off and turn on your fan. While system is defrosting check
your filter, if it is dirty take it out and replace it. After the system is no longer frozen up return your unit to
cooling --if it freezes up again call
Central Triad Services .

Q: Have more questions?
A: Then call Central Triad Services 336-476-6107 for the answers.
